Dr. Reid Doster

It takes courage to ask for help, especially from someone you don’t know.

If you are having thoughts of harming yourself or someone else, please call 911 immediately, go to the nearest emergency facility or call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at (800) 273-8255.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and clinical pastoral counselor, I work with individuals, couples and families to resolve common human problems. I believe you will benefit from experience, maturity and clinical competence gained from more than thirty years in practice, and will quickly realize I sincerely care about you. When you reach out to me, I will do my best to respond promptly, without your waiting too long for an appointment.

Depression, anxiety and exhaustion can be consequences of unresolved conflict, painful loss, overthinking, worrying, procrastinating, people-pleasing, approval-seeking, and care-taking. Our focus will be on healthier self-care.

I meet with private practice clients on weeknights and weekends in a comfortable in-home office in Covington, Louisiana, or by secure teletherapy video. During weekdays, I serve as Director of Behavioral Health for a primary health network.

The professional fee is $135 for initial assessment and $120 per hour for follow-up sessions, but lower if using one of these contracted insurers: Blue Cross, United Health (Optum), Aetna, Vantage, Gilsbar, Humana and EAP of Louisiana. Payment can be by cash, check, credit/debit card, HSA account or PayPal.

I suggest you ask yourself: “Emotionally and psychologically, can I really afford to delay counseling any longer?”

Consider what you can reasonably set aside from your monthly cash-flow to invest in counseling and we will work with that figure, pacing your sessions accordingly and with meaningful therapeutic assignments between sessions.

Also, be thinking about how you will know when you are doing better. I hope to see you soon.
